Overview
Robert Ward’s diverse background in criminal, civil, and regulatory law enables him to strategically navigate complex legal landscapes and develop efficient and effective solutions to clients’ challenges.
Robert joins Ifrah Law after completing a clerkship with the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He has also served as a criminal defense attorney with the Hiscock Legal Aid Society in Syracuse, NY, representing individuals on appeal from criminal convictions and in other post-conviction proceedings.
Robert’s litigation skills are enhanced by his experience in corporate work. After graduating from Cornell Law School, Robert practiced tax law in Boston for an AmLaw 50 law firm, advising clients on the tax implications of joint venture agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and international transactions, as well as managing issues with the Internal Revenue Service.
While pursuing his J.D., Robert interned in the Environmental Law Division of the New York City Law Department, where he assisted on matters pertaining to land use regulation, the Clean Air Act, and Superfund cost recovery. He was also a member of the Cornell Law School First Amendment Clinic, where he drafted dispositive motions and appellate briefs in matters ranging from state-court defamation actions to federal Freedom of Information Act request denials.
Prior to his legal career, Robert held jobs as an analyst and researcher at such organizations as the Global Initiative for Sustainability Ratings and the Tellus Institute, and served as an independent researcher on a project sponsored by organizations such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Global Reporting Initiative.
